Dr. Kirk Laman is a board certified cardiologist whose specialty lies in helping people struggling with physical, emotional, and spiritual heart problems. Dr. Laman practices cardiology with the Thoracic Cardiovascular Institute, Mid-Michigan’s premier cardiovascular specialists.

For many years Dr. Laman has recognized the important role that our thoughts and emotions have upon our heart health. His book, “How to Heal Your Broken Heart - A Cardiologist’s Secrets for Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Health” published by Advantage Press, offers readers a simple and easy way to begin the process of healing the psychological and emotional issues that trouble their hearts.

Dr. Laman is an avid writer. He has written for The Detroit News, Medical Economics, Healthy and Fit magazine, and the new age paper, Phenomenews. His monthly newsletter WholeHearted Living is available for people wanting to know more about total heart health.

Another passion of Dr. Laman’s is public speaking. Drawing on his twenty years of practical experience as a cardiologist and healer/pastor he offers useful lessons in heart-felt living.  Dr. Laman is on the speaker’s bureau for Pfizer, a Fortune 500 Company, and Wyeth Laboratories. 

How Putting Your Heart into Life Makes the Difference––is one of the key themes of Dr.Laman's public speaking. His unique message is to demonstrate how applying a "Heart Centered" approach can make every endeavor successful-whether it be business, your heart health, or just life.

Dr. Laman is also a pastor in the Sufi order of Shadhiliyya Sufi’s. Sufism is the deep mystical tradition of Islam best known in the West through the writings of the poet, Rumi. Sufism teaches practical methods for opening the heart to greater love.  The Head of the Higher Sufi Council of Jerusalem and the Holy Lands, Sidi Muhammad al-Jamal has conferred on Dr. Laman the title of a Master Sufi Teacher and Healer.

Kirk Laman, D.O., F.A.C.C. is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. His medical degree was obtained from The Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. His cardiology fellowship was completed at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He currently practices clinical cardiology in Lansing, and Owosso, Michigan.
